Prayer Seasons & Scriptures
Do you experience prayer seasons in your life - that is a season of time where you have an assignment, or there is a burden to pray for certain things? That is certainly the case with me.
Whenever I enter a new season the Lord is very faithful to give me scriptures for that season. Those scriptures are important to me as they serve several purposes. First, they are an indication of what the Lord is doing in me and/or a situation, or what He is planning to do. They give me faith to pray because they are confirmation to me of God's will and I can stand on them in faith. Often they include prayer strategy. They are like tools for me - I pray those scriptures, declare them and prophesy them over people and situations. I also study them and meditate on them and get deep spiritual insights from them.
I have just entered a new prayer season and I am sharing it with you because even though there is always a personal element to each season, it is always for something more - like Aglow in Alaska and beyond. Here is what I feel it is about (and I will be the first to tell you that very often the scriptures come to me through other people - like what you shared for our weekly prayer).
1. Abundance - especially in love and unity.
John 10:10, I Thess. 3:12, Ps.130, Col. 3:14
2. Outreach to the lost and hurting including discipleship, preaching & teaching, baptisms in the Holy Spirit, healings, miracles, signs and wonders.
Matt. 25:35, Is. 61:1, Acts 19
3. Restoration of lost sheep.
Ez. 11-16
4. Favor of the Lord.
Is. 61:2, Psalm 91
I got to thinking that if God has given me this assignment, then I have an anointing to pray it, so why not take it up a few notches beyond my own life and ministry? So I am praying these things over our country, our government, and Israel.
Do you have prayer seasons in your life? Does God give you scriptures to assist you in the assignment? You are welcome to use what I have put down here - or seek the Lord for your own season and scriptures.
God bless you and give you favor as you seek Him and pray!
Love and Blessings,
Mary
