SPC Letter from Nancy Haney, 

March 17, 2007

Dear Intercessors and Sisters in Christ,

I just wanted to write and ask that you all continue to join with me,  standing in a posture of prayer,  lifting the shield of protection and prayer around our state.

We have been so excited about the up and coming State Spring Retreat, that is "Truly" going to be a Unified;  SHOUT WITH A VOICE OF TRIUMPH! (Joshua 6:20),  I believe that the sound will be heard across the United States...And the Headlines across the nation will read, "LOOK WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE IN ALASKA!   Praise be to God.   Join me in covering God's plans...Declare with me that what we see and hear will come to pass!  Amen!

If that is not exciting just take a look at the line-up of special guests that are coming to be a blessing to all of us in Alaska.  (Brochures will be in your mail next week, be watching for them)

Featured speaker, JoAnne Meckstroth, U. S. Director Aglow Intl.  The power of the Word of God is so rich in JoAnne and she comes bearing a very humble spirit to serve, and she serves to the last drop...I promise you will not be disappointed when you meet her, and you won't leave the same as God will use her to touch your life!  And to be honest, JoAnne and the rest of the ladies greatest gifts are,  they are coming to love you!

The next 3 weeks JoAnne Meckstroth, myself and Carol Ann Martin will be in and out of the state traveling...We have many ministries going on around the US along with personal business.  Please keep us in prayer over the weeks as we prepare.

Also, Prayer needs for both the Area Teams who are blessed to be working together again to bring a state retreat.  Special prayers needs especially for Ruth Norman heading with the responsibility of V.P. of  Special Events...Ruth and the rest of the Northern Anchorage Bowl Area Team just successfully presented the Cabin Fever Retreat in Fairbanks...Awesome, awesome testimonies. 

For our State retreat;  much prayer is needed as there is so many responsibilities in  taking on such a large endeavor... Finances, decorations, scheduling, transportation, planning menu's.  Organizing and preparing of each speaker, Worship Teams, Greeters, Prayer Shield, Hostesses, more special speakers such as Terry Murphy from Northern Oregon coming to share a workshop. She has been requested to share out of the great job she did down at the Lynwood Summit in February, I missed it and what an opportunity to have her come up here and share it with the whole state!

Evangeline Weiner as a Special Guest for the Girl and Teen Aglow Retreat, lead by Aglow Girl/Teen Coordinator, Glinda Smith...Evangeline Weiner is currently the Generations Program Developer for Aglow International...I met her at North America Conference in Milwaukee last fall, she is delightful young lady and our young people especially will love her!  My Granddaughter Crystelle (12) cannot hardly contain herself as this will be her first Aglow Retreat and is inviting her friends....

And another opportunity to attend a "State Prayer Rally" with your SPC,  along with the 7:00 am early prayer times.  Better be there, I'm looking forward to seeing all of you that can attend.

Not to mention, good fellowship, opportunity to see how the whole state is doing and to meet new friends.

Now with saying all that...do you suppose with such a plan we are standing in the need of prayer?

Yes! Then join me in what I believe is,  an opportunity to be lifting up one of the most important Retreats you are going to attend..Start Shouting now...a Voice of Triumph..help me pray our borders full of strength.... to defeat any distraction the enemy can try and come up with.  GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN US, than, he that is in the world!  Pray and declare with a Voice of Triumph, please agree with me! 

Praise be to God the finances will be there to come...Praise be to God the transportation will be there, Praise be to God the Families will be supportive, Praise be to God that the Girls Aglow 7-12 and the Teen Aglow 13-18 will be blessed to come!

SPC/Letter 2006

Make radical choices to fast and pray:

Aglow in Alaska is embarking into a new place…A place not visited before…AS your leadership has heard the news in the past few days, our state has grown and matured and is now becoming a proud state with two Area Teams being commissioned. Now is the time to be extending, and stretching those tent pegs as spoken in Is. 54; Deut. 1:8,10,11; Heb.11:1

  1. Pray for our 2 Presidents, Debbie Grimes and Carol Ann Martin: for Godly wisdom, revelation, strategy, strength and boldness (Eph. 1:15-23.) Pray for Godly counseling and advice for the new directions they are receiving. Pray that their heart may be enlightened, so that they will know what is the hope of His Calling in the new plans for Alaska’s Area teams. Pray that the teams they lead are hearing in concert agreement . Pray for more dreams and visions to pour out. Pray for their families and the other priorities in their lives as they attempt to balance all the responsibilities God has laid on their hearts. I pray and call out for more Intercessors to pray for your leaders, and those in authority…for this is good and acceptable to God our Savior. (1Tim. 2:1-3)
  2. Pray for the rest of the Area Team who have been Partners: existing team members as well as the new team members invited to come on board and for the confirming of the right choices. In this new hour, I believe God has groomed and shaped the perfect persons for the open positions for both Area Teams. Pray for wisdom, vision, strength and unity to compliment the teams as we all move through these Kingdom Building transitions for our State. Pray for their families and other responsibilities that they might have. Pray Eph. 1:15-23 for all our area team members, advisors, field assistants, U.S. Director, and SPC.
  3. Pray for the choosing of New State Advisors for both Area Teams: Mature Godly council is good.
  4. Pray the Word: Isaiah 1:26; Psalms 2; Psalms 24; Isaiah 9:6-7; Phil. 1:6; Jer. 29:11-13 and other scriptures God will show you. Please share with us the treasures God exposes to you.
  5. Aglows: Please be ready to step out of the box as God leads us further into 2006. Pray more in your planning meetings – Pray more in your outreach meetings. I encourage everyone to pray about teachings, concerning prayer and fasting for the plans of God for this next year. Especially sound the alarm. Use your correspondence lists, telephone, addresses and emails to stir people to pray in your areas. Jesus called His house "a house of prayer." Then you can watch the fruit of the Harvest come in for your areas. That is truly when the work begins Please let us all participate in all of the above. Let’s include everyone, send this email to every Aglow Sister you know, present and past.
  6. Pray for your SPC, Nancy Haney as she comes along side and works in cooperation with the US Director JoAnne Meckstroth and the Area Leadership in the State. Pray for Wisdom, strategy, strength and boldness to walk out the Establishing, training, mobilizing and encouraging newly formed and presently active Aglow prayer groups. Pray for expanding of prayer network communication around the state.
  7. Pray for your U.S. Director, JoAnne Meckstroth as she comes alongside the Area teams to help facilitate these transitions. Pray for JoAnne, especially, for wisdom for her responsibilities as U.S. Director over the state of Alaska, Washington, Oregon and a section of Idaho…and as an exhorter and mentor to many.
  8. Ministries: If you would like more help in promoting more of a prayer focus in your area, please contact me. I would be blessed to pray with you and seek God’s face concerning a specific prayer strategy for your specific area.

Helpful ideas: Have numerous prayer meetings throughout the week - mornings, evenings, and lunch hours. Take a team to city offices to pray. (This should be teams of intercessors praying outside the places of authority every day.) Encourage sowing into good ground, through finances, into ministries of Aglow that are on the front lines of this battle for Kingdom Building…Look for where God is working and you’ll know where to start. Use this letter as a focus to stir up the prayer ministry of your lighthouse, Bible Study and or prayer group. Teach and practice on prayer. Encourage those able and willing to fast. We are blessed that some are already doing all of the above.

I Thank My God for all you, the whole entire leadership of the State.

Praying women, arise! Watch and see what Our God can truly do, But it will only happen if we pray! (2Chron. 7:14)

Lighthouses, Neighborhood Prayer Groups, Bible Studies, Work Place Groups, Neighborhood, We are praying for you! It has been a priority every time we gather! You are so loved and so appreciated! May God bless you all!
